Senegalese Government to Establish New Quranic Centers

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The government of Senegal plans to establish 21 Quranic centers in the central city of Kaffrine.

 

According to almoslim.net website, the country’s president has approved the required funds for founding the Quranic schools in the city, which is known as “city of knowledge”.

Mbaba Ma, the president of the city’s science academy, said establishment of the new Quranic centers would lead to the development of Quranic and religious education in the city and country.

Apart from Quranic and religious educational courses, the centers will offer other courses as well, he noted.

Kaffrine is the capital town of Kaffrine Region of Senegal.

Senegal is a country in West Africa bordered by Mauritania in the north, Mali to the east, Guinea to the southeast, and Guinea-Bissau to the southwest. 

Islam is the predominant religion in the country. Some 92 percent of its population is estimated to be Muslim.
