Al-Azhar Hails Quran Recitation in Vatican

Egypt's Al-Azhar Islamic Center has welcomed the decision by Pope Francis to allow Muslims to recite the Quran and Islamic prayers in the Vatican.

Mahmoud Al-Azb, an advisor with Al-Azhar's sheikh, said the decision is set to open a new chapter in the relations between the Vatican and the Muslim and Arab world.
He underlined that Muslims respect followers of all faiths and are against any kind of violence and extremism.
The decision by the leader of the world Catholics to allow recitation of the Quran and Islamic prayers in the Vatican on Sunday is said to be aimed at promoting peace.
