According to the TV channel’s communication and international relations department, the programs include the tenth edition of a phone-in Quran recitation contest.

Named Innal-Mutaqina Mufaza, the competition is held every night during Ramadan with the participation of those who want to showcase their talents in recitation of the Holy Quran.

There is also a number of TV series, such as ‘Bab al-Murad’ which features the life of Imam Javad (AS), the ninth Shia Imam.

Tarteel recitation of the Quran, answering Fiqh (jurisprudential) questions, religious speeches and special programs for kids are also on Al-Kawthar TV’s agenda in the holy month.

Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar, starts on May 27 this year.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast as an effective way of practicing self-discipline. They are also expected to strengthen their character through self-restraint, charitable-giving and introspection.
