TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Ummah Group, is a religious group that organizes religious speeches in English here in the Iranian capital.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abdullah Hosseini has established the group. He has recently been appointed as representative of the Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in Africa and will soon leave for the continent.

Nonetheless, the group’s programs in Tehran are not going to be suspended. They will continue under the supervision of Hojat-ol-Islam Yahya Jahangiri, the international affairs deputy of the University of Islamic Denominations.

They are frequented by foreign diplomats and staff of foreign companies, English language students, foreign university students and Iranians who have married foreigners.

They are recorded and broadcast on several Shia TV stations in countries like India, the US, Britain and Tanzania.

The Freshteh Mosque in northern Tehran hosts the gatherings organized by the Ummah Group.

It held its latest program on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadeq (AS) earlier this week.

It began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by a prominent Qari from Afghanistan, followed by a speech by Mehdi Naderimanesh, a graduate of the University of California in genetic engineering who talked about latest scientific advances, the future of artificial intelligence and singularity.

A journalist from Kashmir then delivered a speech about the relations between Iran and Kashmir.

The keynote speaker of the day was Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abdullah Hosseini who discussed different political, social and economic aspects of Hajj.
