University Students Quran Competition Underway in Egypt

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran competition for university students started in Egypt Saturday.

 

According to al-Dastoor news website, male and female students from 20 state universities of the Arab country are compete in two separate sections in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.

The competition will run until Friday, September 21.

The Suez University is paying host to the Quranic event, held under the supervision of Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdul Ghaffar.

A three-strong committee of scholars from Al-Azhar University and Egypt’s Awqaf Ministry judge the qualities of the contenders.

Egypt is an Arab country in North Africa. More than 90 percent of Egyptians are Muslim.

It is a country where Quranic activities are very popular.
