The Quran was presented to Landi’s family on Saturday by Peyman Jebeli, newly appointed chief of the IRIB.
“A gift to the dear and patient family of courageous self-giving teenager Ali Landi who managed to display himself as a model for the young generation. May God have mercy on him, his parents, and his family,” Ayatollah Khamenei wrote on the bestowed Quran.
Landi passed away on September 24 due to his severe burns.
Earlier in the month, 15-year-old Ali had rushed to rescue two neighboring women trapped in a burning house in his hometown Izeh, Khuzestan Province. After the incident, which occurred on September 9, Ali was hospitalized in Taleqani Hospital in Ahvaz with third-degree burns, affecting some 90% of his body.
On September 25, Ayatollah Khamenei agreed to the request of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs to declare Ali Landi a martyr.
