The Zionist military analyst, Alex Fishman, considered that the border with Egypt has become "a battle front", pointing out that changing the Egyptian border definition has led to changing in the number and types of the armed forces deployed along the border.
He revealed that the Southern Command has set up special intelligence teams made up of the Shin Bet security service, the police and the military forces that are working on collecting intelligence information and identifying targets for armed groups in the Sinai, Gaza and al-Naqab.
For his part, the military expert, Ehud Elam, expressed his expectations that a war to be waged between Egypt and Israel, noting that the Egyptian revolution and the growing political power of the Muslim Brotherhood may lead to field clashes.
Elam believed that Israel will not be able to resolve the battle in the Sinai through air attacks only. Thus, it will be forced to launch ground attacks. However, there are many reasons making them retreat from provoking each other for now, Elam said, adding that any confrontation between the two forces will be against their desires.
Speaking in the same context, "Haaretz" newspaper analysts Avi Issacharoff and Amos Harel reported that "the chaos in Sinai is not expected to disappear any time soon, and the Egyptian security forces will be busy with repeated attempts to stabilize the security situation in the country's large cities.”
They also noted that "one of the central problems that Israel will be forced to deal with in future events or attacks by organizations without a clear address" and the unclear identities of attackers that may lead to confrontations with the Egyptian side, despite the fact that "the Israeli government is not interested in another escalation with Cairo and will therefore avoid carrying out any action on Egyptian soil," as they stated.
Meanwhile, the Zionist analyst, Reuven Pedatzur, saw that the expectations of an outbreak of war between Egypt and Israel are still small, because the new Egyptian leadership will be preoccupied with feeding more than 80 million Egyptians in the coming years.
