‘Islamic Unity’ Photo Competition Planned in Pakistan
According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the competition will be organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Islamabad in cooperation with Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
Qasim Moradi, Iranian cultural attaché in Pakistan, discussed various fields of cooperation in a recent meeting with Fouzia Saeed, director general of the council.
The two sides stressed the necessity of boosting cultural and art mutual cooperation.
Moradi suggested holding the photo competition and expressed hope that more such competitions will be held in cooperation with the council.
Saeed welcomed the suggestion and said that the council is ready to develop cultural and art relations between the two Muslim countries.
The 17th day of Rabi al-Awwal, which falls on November 3 this year, is believed by Shia Muslims to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), while Sunni Muslims regard the 12th day of the month as the birthday of the last prophet.
The interval between the two dates is celebrated every year as the Islamic Unity Week.
Late Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA) declared the occasion as the Islamic Unity Week back in the 1980s.
