Islamic Unity Necessary for Tackling Cultural Challenge Facing Youths: Syrian Scholar

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A university professor from Syria said the younger generation in the Muslim world is facing a cultural dilemma and in order to tackle this issue, strengthening cooperation and solidarity in the Muslim world is important.

Dr. Anwar Warda, in his address to the eleventh webinar of the 37th Islamic Unity Conference stressed the importance of cooperation in the face of the social, economic, political and educational issues.

He warned of the present condition in the Islamic world as a shaky situation due to the technological developments and said it is difficult to identify which values are common as the technology revolution has facilitated much quicker transfer of billions of messages and data on a daily basis.

He said due to the same development of the technology, the current generation is facing various dilemmas.

He hailed the 37th Islamic Unity Conference for its theme on “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values” and said,” It actually proposes a great topic for the future generation.”

He added, “Such discussions will open the eyes of the future generation and enable them to know the right steps and recognize the right path.”

The 37th Islamic Unity Conference is underway in the capital Tehran with a number of Shia and Sunni scholars attending the webinars of the conference.

This year the elites and religious figures attending the event discuss the theme “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values”.

The international conference began on September 28 and will run to October 3 concurrent with the Islamic Unity Week which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
