Iran’s Nat’l Quran Contest to Kick Off Late November

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of Iran’s 46th National Holy Quran Competition will start on November 30 in the northeastern city of Bojnourd.

This is according to Hojat-ol-Islam Gholam Reza Adel, the cultural and social deputy of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, speaking at a press conference on Sunday.

He said the Awqaf organization has always been proud of serving the Holy Quran and holding Quran competitions is among its examples.

According to the cleric, the city and provincial rounds of the national Quran contest have concluded, and qualified contenders have been selected to compete in the finals.

He said the final stage will be organized from November 30 to December 9 in different categories such as Quran recitation and memorization, Tarteel, Adhan recitation, choral recitation, and Tawasheeh.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Adel referred to other Quranic activities of the Awqaf organization, saying it organizes regular Quran recitation sessions in mosques and holy sites across the country with the participation of Iranian and foreign qaris.
