Ibtihal to Be Added to Iran Nat’l Quran Contest’s Categories: Official
Head of the Quran and Etrat Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hamid Majidimehr made the remark in a program aired on the Quran TV on Friday.
He noted that this year’s competition also has a new category, which is recitation of Madihah (praising and eulogizing the Infallible (AS)) in the women’s section.
Majidimehr referred to the upcoming event, which will kick off in the southwestern city of Ahvaz on January 12, and said he expects this year’s will become one of the contest’s most high quality editions.
He noted that for the first time, papers have been eliminated from the process of assessments and the whole process will be digitized this year.
It will not only save a lot of paper and reduce cost, but also help increase speed and precision and boost fairness in judging the contenders’ performances, the official stated.
The final round of the 45th national Quran competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the categories of recitation and memorization will be launched in a ceremony at Imam Reza (AS) Hall in Ahvaz on January 12 and the closing ceremony will be held on January 18.
The contenders in the two categories will compete in the morning and afternoon sessions. There will be 181 men and women competing in two separate sections in the finals.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Khuzestan Province will offer the full live coverage of the Quranic event.
A number of other bodies like Ahvaz Municipality and the Culture and Islamic Guidance Department of Khuzestan Province are cooperating with the Awqaf Organization in holding the finals.
The competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.
It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
